Cautano is a small village situated in the Monte Tiburno National Park. Its name origins are strictly linked to the old town of Caudium and to the Caudini, a Samnites People who lived next to Caudine Forks where the Roman Army was defeated. Cautano is surrounded by in an enchanting landscape: the hills and valleys of Benevento province. In December vegetation rests and along the slopes you can see bare asleep vineyards. The quiet country lanes make you feel the local economy made of wine and agriculture traditions; the smell of burning wood in the chimneys leads you till the “La Masseria di Maria”. Antonio Caporaso is the owner, his farm was born in 2004, his family has been dedicated to viticulture for several generations
